Good
Looks
Low maintenance 60 micron polyester powder coating
– as used on most modern shops and offices
– ensures high resistance t grime.
Early hoses clean – back to original pristine
sheen.
One single, visually consistent colour to the
outside roof.
|
Good
Looks
Plastic finishes can become soiled more easily.
Due to the difficulty of access it is harder to
restore a PVC-U roof to a satisfactory finish.
It is not uncommon or different shades to be noticeable
across the roof structure.
|
Strength
Quantal combine the strength of aluminium with a
tough, high gloss, polyester coating, bonded to
the exposed surfaces.
Aluminium beads enable significant pressure to
be put on the glazing panels to prevent them shifting
after instillation.
Box section aluminium eaves beam allows Quantal
to build larger roofs than most of its competitors
without the need for tie bars.
|
Strength
Generally capped with plastic.
Rely on Knock-on plastic top caps to exert pressure.
If no box section is used, intrusive tie bar
strengtheners are required on much smaller conservatories.
|
Durability
Low thermal expansion of aluminium gives excellent
stability. Particularly relevant with dark external
finishes.
High gloss precision metal castings, based on an
authentic original Victoria design, are used for
the decorative crestings and finial. |
Durability
Plastic roofs are more prone to thermal movement,
putting more demands on the long term.
Most PVC-U roofs use moulded plastic items.
